The chart above plots out approximate costs for programming by month and item. Performer fees listed are those taken from the Contra Costa County Library’s spreadsheet of performers used in previous years’ programs. A small amount of money is allotted for story times, advertising and craft supplies, which may not be used up every month and will therefore be available for the following months.
The following line item budget outlines the cost of individual items and allows the programmer to see how some of the larger and smaller expenses compare and perhaps give them an idea of how to adjust.

Fundraising for some of these programs will be procured through grants such as those from the Poets and Writer’s for National Poetry Month, the WK Kellogg Foundation for some of the multi-cultural events and the Rockwell Collins Charitable Organization to help fund the Alice 3D animation classes. Various nationally-based retailers and local retailers will be asked to help fund the Summer Reading Program.
